Laura A. Piper – About Me
I’m a seasoned, versatile, and strategic communications leader with more than 20 years of experience a variety of industries and sectors.
I have balanced experience in both internal and external communications, but my passion is for internal communications because I enjoy empowering employees with the information, inspiration, and calls to action that create engagement and connection with a company’s strategic goals and core values.
Most recently, I completed a contract position with USAA, as a senior communications advisor for the core infrastructure services team within the IT department.
Before that, I spent 14 years building the corporate communications function at Pioneer Natural Resources – a large, independent upstream oil and gas company where I gained valuable experience in:
- creating content for a variety of communications channels
- advising internal partners, including executives
- strategic communications planning, tracking, delivery and measurement
Other places I’ve worked include the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Richardson Independent School District, and Thousand Trails.
